Welcome to BMS2010!

As the conference chairs, we would like to warmly welcome you to BMS2010 in Nuremberg, Germany.

Nuremberg

BMS stands for BrainModulationSummit. Brain Modulation is the application of interdisciplinary methods and technologies including medicine, neuroscience, electronics, engineering, physiology, biochemistry, and various related disciplines to the human brain and related structures in order to therapeutically modulate its functions.

It has now reached a level of commercial and scientific maturity that will produce enormous benefits to patients and profits to investors. Hundreds of thousands of people have already been helped by brain– and neurostimulation products that restore hearing to the deaf, sighting to the blind and relief to those with chronic pain or neurological disorders that cannot be addressed by conventional pharmacology.

BMS2010 promises to be an exciting event and covers a range of technologies & market segments in brainmodulation with a special focus on

  • Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS)
  • Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)
  • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
  • Emerging Technologies (such as t-VNS, t-DCS, and others)
  • Surrogate Markers for Diagnosis & Treatment Evaluation
  • functional Imaging (fMRI, MEG, PET, and others)

all for neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions (main focus: epilepsy, depression, schizophrenia, tinnitus).

Meet colleagues, world-class scientists in engineering, neuroscience and medicine translating research into technologies to improve medical devices for brainmodulation.

Prospective authors are invited to submit papers as well as Insight Tutorials on methods and devices including but not limited to:

  • Brainmodulation Methods and Devices (incl. neuroprosthetics, chip technologies,...)
  • Methods & Devices for Diagnosis and Treatment Evaluation (such as biochemical surrogate markers, body sensor networks, Neuropsychopharmacology, and others)
  • Neuromorphing and Neuronal Networks
  • Neuron-Silicon Hybrids
  • Functional Imaging with Brainmodulation context
  • And others
